A season-long 20th anniversary celebration was launched by Willy’s Mexicana Grill that they call #SummerOfWillys. Atlanta’s first burrito restaurant now has four locations in Cobb County.
In line with its anniversary bash, Willy Bitter, founder and owner, has unveiled a $20K or 20 days fundraiser. The kick-off started on June 1 and lasted until June 20. Patrons of Willy’s who donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta enjoyed their coupons in exchange for a burrito in return.
“The $20K or 20 Days fundraiser is the perfect way to begin the #SummerOfWillys and show our appreciation for the community that has supported us for the past 20 years,” Bitter said.
“Guests who stop in for one of our signature, fresh-made favorites — or popular new menu items like the Baja Burrito or Frito Burrito — can make a $5 donation and get a $5 coupon to use on their next visit. It’s a win-win,” he enthused.
The objective of the anniversary celebration is to raise $20,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs’ healthy-eating initiative, Positive Sprouts, in 20 days or less. This program teaches the importance of positive eating habits, fresh produce and good nutrition by developing and sustaining community gardens.
“Positive Sprouts is committed to instilling positive eating habits in young children that will benefit them for a lifetime,” stated Bitter. “This program is helping kids make healthy, nutritious choices about what they put in their bodies and how they spend their time,” he added.
“Willy’s has been serving a delicious alternative to fast food for 20 years now, and we’re thrilled to be able to help spread awareness about this wonderful initiative,” Bitter explained.
The $20K or 20 Days fundraising event was held until June 20 at all Willy’s metro Atlanta and Athens restaurants. Willy’s $5 coupons are set to expire by July 12. They can also be used for a future visit to all locations except Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
After living in San Francisco and touring the Mission District in the 1990s, Bitter established Willy’s Mexicana Grill. He is an entrepreneur who deeply appreciates the California-style burritos enough to bring the idea back to Atlanta.
He started a new style of fast-casual Mexican restaurant in Atlanta and opened his first Willy’s Mexican Grill in 1995.
His four restaurants in Atlanta are located at 2460 Cumberland Parkway in the Cumberland area, another at 840 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, a third one at 2900 Delk Road and the last one at 4250 Roswell Road, both in Marietta.

Willy’s serves its breakfast menus at Peachtree Center, AT&T Lindbergh, Hapeville and Hartsfield Jackson Airport.
