  4. WHY SUCH DIVERSITY FROM ONE GOLDEN CORRAL TO ANOTHER. I USED TO LIVE IN PORT SAINT LUCIE FLORIDA AND I GAVE THE STAFF AND FOOD ETC THERE 5 STARS THE BEST I CAN GIVE, NOW I MOVED TO BROWARD COUNTY FL AND WENT TO SEVERAL DOWN HERE AND THE QUALITY IS WORSE THAN THE CANNED FOOD I FEED MY DOG.. SAME FOOD ALL LOCATIONS!! WHAT GIVES.??? I KNOW THESE ARE FRANCHISED BUT THE CORPORATE GURUS SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE FRANCHISED LOCATIONS MATCH EXACTLY THE HIGH STANDARDS THE CORPORATE EXECUTIVES DEMAND.. IT IS NOT HAPPENING DOWN HERE IN BROWARD COUNTY.. KUDDOS TO THE MANAGMENT OUT OF ORLANDO WHO ALSO RUN THE PORT SAINT LUCIE LOCATIONS.. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST.. THE REST OF YOU IN BROWARD COUNTY NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WITH SUB STANDARD QUALITY FOOD AND FILTHY RESTURANTS.. IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO ENLIGHTEN ME I AM ALL EARS JUST EMAIL ME
I’LL DRIVE 100 MILES TO GO UP TO PORT SAINT LUCIE TO EAT AT GC BEFORE I’LL DRIVE LESS THAN A MILE TO THE ONE DOWN HERE IN BROWARD COUNTY ON SAMPLE ROAD..SAME AS COMMERCIAL RD AS WELL LOUSY SERVICE UNCLEAN FACILITIES AND DOG FOOD
    THANKS

  5. We ate at the Golden Coral in Eustis, Fla. and it was wonderful. We have tried them before and we didn’t care for it. But this time we went it was clean, courteous waitresses, and good food. We will definitely do back.

  6. Are they e ery going to put golden coral in northen california around yuba city. Would to try your place but they are all to far.

    Reply
    • Yuba City has (had?) a Hometown Buffet. GC’s buffet is more meat-laden, but… really, it’s pretty much the same food. Don’t feel too left out.

      Reply
      • Hup, just checked, and the YC Hometown is belly-up. Huh… There was never NOT a crowd on the occasions I was there, they didn’t seem starving for clientele.
So I’m with you, girl. Hey GC honchos, open one in the Marysville/Yuba City area in NorCal. Demographic-wise, it’ll be like the Modesto location, but with fewer tweakers… 8^)

  11. Treating Florida tourist better than it’s residents:
The Golden Corral locations around Disneyworld are bigger, better & cheaper than the one by me in Broward County on Pines Blvd.

  13. Bad management. Charges more for dinner for the advertised steak. But they only cook one steak about every 20 minutes, and give you a tiny little piece. What a rip off!!

  14. The wife and I ate at GC Fort Smith AR. 11-29-16 lunch buffet. Both seniors and price was twenty four and change! I asked if that was senior price and assured yes. Thinking price had doubled but food and service good. Wrong. The catfish was over spiced, salty and leathery, Shrimp was tiny pieces w/too much breading and too salty to eat. Only thing fit too eat came from salad bar.
That much $ for some pineapple and cottage cheese ? Won’t eat at golden Corral again.

    • You are overreacting RM. and Lt. GC is the bomb. I do agree with you on the steak though. My and my family go there at least 5 times a year. We don’t get to go out very much.

  15. They always put me far from the food bar, mind yu I have a severe limp from being shot. They never acknowledge that I’m limping. And take a long time to serve me n my nephew’s. I’m going today and I hope they acknowledge me and my family.

  16. We have a Golden Corral in Austell, Georgia and we find it very good. The prices have gone up and seniors now go from 2:00 to 4:00 for discount. The prices are great to be able to eat any kind of food you want. The staff are very pleasant and you cant find nicer table waiters.

  17. On the several occasions I’ve eaten at the Modesto CA location, I’ve been happy with the food. Nothing spectacular — it’s a buffet, what do you want? — but decent stuff, and a good variety.
    Two knocks:
    1) Crank up the heat on your steam tables! Okay, I’m sure the food is being held at a legal temperature (140-165°F, depending on the product). That doesn’t mean it’s hot. By the time it hits my table, it only rates as warm. Meh. (The food doesn’t need to be “McDonald’s coffee lawsuit” hot, just more than tepid.)
    2) I’m not sure if the shrimp arrives at locations pre-breaded, but… if not, one of your prep guys in Modesto has a SERIOUS breading fetish. Shrimp breading is the source of joy and hope in his life, so he wants to share it with the world. Lot and lots of it.
Or, he’s a criminal mastermind, and will conquer the universe by giving everyone in Stanislaus Co. adult-onset gluten intolerance via Golden Corral shrimp. (It’s an arcane plan, but I’m sure he’s worked out the details.)
Love the baby back ribs, though, they’re better than some ex-boyfriends: they fill me up, satisfy me, and last as long as I want ’em to.

  18. Haven’t been back to a Golden Coral since I saw a waitress drop a huge stack of plates(she was carrying way too many) and they dropped to the dirty carpeted floor..the noise made me look..I saw her pick them all up..I felt bad for her until I saw her walking with them for a bit, then went back to the table she was heading to before and set them all at the table to be eaten off by the next people..so gross! I was going to tell the manager, but they were around and I swear they knew what happened and didn’t care. It was just disgusting. When I saw a large group of people going to sit down there I went and told them..they looked very unhappy. Nothing like ruining their appetite..glad we were done already. After seeing that our family felt a little nauseous after spending all that money and eating off what may have been dirty dishes. I mean, how hard is it bringing them to the back for washing and getting new ones?! Came on here to check menu out since it’s been many years. Then just still couldn’t get the image of that dinner out of my head and just had to comment.

  20. Getting higher & higher to eat out. Buffet’s are generally NOT high dollar dining establishments. $2.50 per soda is high too. By the time you get drinks & 2 meals…that’s a $30+ bill. For about $4 or $5 more you can have steak at Texas Roadhouse.

  22. During a recent trip to Nebraska I had the pleasure of eating at a Golden Corral in Lincoln. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. The steak I had was one of the best I have ever had from a restaurant. It would give me great pleasure if there was a Golden Corral in Salina Ks . All we have is a Coyote Canyon, and they leave much to be desired. I highly recommend Golden Corral to all who enjoy a quality meal at competitive prices. 5stars.

  23. My daughter sends me a gift card or 2 every month. I love the food but most of the steaks, roast, beef and other entrees have too much salt on them. I think the salt should be a condiment so you have a choice in how much you can kill your Kidneys and increase your Blood Pressure. Thanks

  24. We carried two of our grandchildren, ages 7&10, Together they didn’t eat a whole plate of food. The bill for 2 adults and two kids was $49.00 plus tip. For that price we could have gone to any restaurant in town for much better food. Will not be back!
