Whenever you see a statue of a big bear at the parking lot of a restaurant you know that you’re in for some home-style cooking at Black Bear Diner. Great food and great customer services are some of the most overused words in the restaurant business yet they are the ones that really matter. Black Bear is the perfect place where you can re-live the warm feeling of a sumptuous meal back in old grandma’s place where you are treated like a pop super star who has finally gone home from a long world tour. You’re always somebody special at Black Bear yet you still feel somewhat like someone who belongs to their community; a family of sorts. That’s how you’ll feel when you walk in a Black Bear Diner.
Filling Breakfast Options
You can order The Grizz which comes with 2 sweet cream pancakes, 3 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage links and a ham steak that is served with your choice of potato. Or, you can have the Bigfoot Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs that is smothered with gravy and served with 3 eggs, strip-cut hash browns, country red potatoes or fresh fruit and 2 home-made biscuits. Grandma always says that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they take that to heart in every Black Bear Diner. If you are used to the coffee-only breakfast routine then it’s time to break that bad eating habit and follow what grandma has to say about what breakfast should be; filling.
Bear’s Burger for Lunch
For lunch, there are the house specialty burgers and from the best of what’s on the menu, it is highly recommended that you order Bob’s Big Bear Burger that was named after the co-founder of Black Bear Diner, Papa Bear Manley. This 2/3-pound burger is made of a specially seasoned ground beef patty and served with grilled onion, tomato, pickle, lettuce, mayonnaise and Thousand Island dressing. To turn it into a Delux Super burger, just tell the waitress to add 2 slices of their thick-cut smoked bacon and your choice of cheese.
If you want a bit of greens to go along with your beefy burger, you can also order the taco salad on the side. This filling salad is made up of seasoned ground beef, fire-roasted pulled pork or grilled chicken breast served in a crispy tostada bowl lined with refried beans and topped with salad mix, tomato, onions, olives, cheddar cheese, jack cheese, pickled jalapeno, avocado, cilantro and the dressing of your choice.
Full to the Brim Steak and Rib Dinner
Now, dinner has to be All-American Steaks and Ribs. You can have your USDA choice meats and cuts of a 10-ounce Rib Eye Steak, a 10-ounce New York Steak that’s topped with deep-fried onion rings, the 10-ounce Roadhouse Tri-Tip Platter, the 6-ounce Tri-Tip Combos with your choice of barbecue pork ribs or golden-fried shrimps and the slow cooked Barbecue Pork Ribs that’s smothered with their signature barbecue sauce. All steaks and ribs orders can be requested to be prepared rare, cool in the middle, red throughout, medium rare, pink throughout, medium, pink just in the middle, medium well, very little pink left or well-cooked throughout.
Cool Classic Dessert
The Black Bear experience will never be complete without dessert because grandma will never let you off without the cool classics. From all the entrees, nothing is more fitting for your heavy steak dinner or big burger lunch than a tall glass of Milkshake that’s made from hand-dipped ice cream. You can have it in huckleberry, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream or make it malt.
Every visit to a Black Bear Diner is like a visit to grandma’s place because you will be treated to the best food and best service. Don’t deprive yourself of this very pleasant treat. Visit the Black Bear Diner nearest you and feel right at home.
